Release by (1) William Willoughby, esq., of Hunsdon (Herts.), Sir Humphrey Brigges of Haughton (Salop), knight and baronet, and John Whitfield of the Middle Temple (London), esq., by and with the consent of John Cary of Minster in the Isle of Thanett (Kent), esq., and in consideration of an intended marriage between John Cary and Dame Mary Baesh, widow and relict of Sir Edward Baesh, knight, late of Stanstead Abbot, alias Stanstead Baesh, (Herts.), deceased, to (2) Janes, earl of Suffolk and Sir Dudley North of Tavestock (Suff.), knight of the Bath, of a moiety of the manor of Minster aforesaid, and of a moiety of all other lands, etc., granted by James I by letters patent, dated 24 December, 9 James [1611], to Sir Philip Cary, knight, John Williams, esq., and William Pitt, then esquire afterwards knight, which premises were leased on the day before the date of these presents by the same; to hold to the grantees to the use of the said John and Mary for their livesand the life of the longer liver, and then to the use of the heirs begotten between them, with remainder to the right heirs of John. With sundry other covenants continued on a second sheet bound to the first by seal tags.
